$10,000.00

With so many apps and so many songs to chose from, not to mention movies, TV shows, books and a lot, lot more, people spend a lot of money buying iTunes cards. The most expensive iTunes card that is available for you to own is $100.00, unless your name is Gail Davis.

In January 2011 Apple started a countdown to the download of the 10 billionth app and the person that downloaded the 10 billionth app was Gail Davis and the app she downloaded was Paper Glider.

So, to honor the 10 billionth app download Apple contacted Gail to give her a prize but as she thought it was telemarketers calling, she hung up and it took the Vice President of iTunes to finally sort out the mess and award Gail her prize, the world’s most expensive iTunes card worth $10,000.00 USD.

Mega millionsOne of the best paying jobs in the world just might have been being a meat packer in Nebraska in early 2006 if you happened to be a part of a group of 8 that watched 15, 17, 43, 44 and 48, with a Powerball number of 29 drawn on February 18, 2006. Luckily for them those were the exact same numbers they selected and when the final ball fell those 8 meat packers were in possession of the world’s most expensive lottery ticket.

The ticket was worth a meaty $365 million but they opted for the instant payout and David Gehle, Chasity Rutjens, Dung Tran, Robert Stewart, Mike Terpstra, Alain Maboussou, Quang Dao and Eric Zornes each brought home the bacon in the sum of $15.5 million  USD.

On March 6, 2007, a Mega Millions jackpot worth $390 million was split by two tickets, although this was the largest lottery prize, each ticket was only worth $195 million.

Gold to Go ATM

While you may be able to use the money that standard ATMs deliver to buy things that are the most expensive in the world, just what and where is the world’s most expensive ATM?

That would be the Gold to Go ATM and it sits in the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. But you shouldn’t expect to have only cash dispensed from this machine. And in fact, you won’t get any cash at all! What you’ll get instead are coins or bars of pure gold produced by some of the world’s top gold producers, including South Africa, Canada, and Australia. Each bar or coin can weigh up to ten grams in weight and they are all stamped with both the country that gold was produced in as well as the Emirates Palace logo.

The Gold to Go ATM updates itself every ten minutes to keep up with the ever changing gold currency conversion rates and, because of its valuable goods inside and out, there are many security measures in place too. As soon as a fault is detected in the machine, it will completely shut down and there is also anti-money laundering software installed within it. And, while there’s no doubt that this particular ATM may hold the most value of any other ATM in the world, it’s also completely covered in gold, making it most likely the most expensive ATM in the world.
