 Insure.com

The DNS was created in 1984 and in 1985 top level domains were defined. The first top level domains were COM, ORG, EDU, GOV, MIL and ccTLD.

In April 1985 cmu.edu, purdue.edu, rice.edu and ucla.edu were the first registered domain names.

The first .com ever registered was SYMBOLICS.COM on March 15, 1985.

With the exponential growth of the Internet some domain names brought their originally owners a fortune so here are some of the world’s most expensive domain names ever sold:

  1. Insure.com: $16 million in 2009.
  2. Sex.com: $12-$14 million in 2006.
  3. Fund.com: $9.99 million in 2008.
  4. Porn.com: $9.5 million in 2007.

Nuclear EnergyIf you own a Kindle, or better yet, you just bought an iPad and you still have money to burn then why not head over to Amazon and purchase the world’s most expensive e-book?

The e-book is called Nuclear Energy and here is the discription from Amazon:

The three volumes VIII/3A, B, C of Energy Technologies should primarily serve scientists, engineers, and students to gain information on physical, chemical, and technical properties of all technologies to provide, convert, distribute, store, and finally use energy. They are supplemented with economic background information and with specific concepts, to allow the reader a proper comparison of different energy technologies. In this way these volumes on energy technologies should help human society pave the way towards sufficient and environmentally safe provision and use of energy. The various contributions have been written by experts from all around the globe working in universities, public research institutions, and private industrial companies.

Can’t wait to get your hands on one? The e-book retails for $7,790.00 but after Amazon’s generous 20% discount it can be yours for an energetic $6,234.00 USD.

Bankaholic.comUsing some intense brain power we came up with an estimation that there are between 100 and 200 million blogs on the World Wide Web, this being one of them.

Some people blog for fun, some for other reasons but most want to make money so just for you we found what the most expensive blog that was ever sold went for and you just might find it motivating.

Johns Wu used to be just another blogger but back in 2008 BankRate offered John a deal he couldn’t refuse for his blog.

Mr. Wu pocketed a bank breaking $12.4 million and all he was out was his blog; Bankaholic.com.

So keep plugging away, you just might be the one the break the record and we’ll feature you on our site too. Also, you won’t be saying “who’s Wu?”, you’ll be saying “WooHoo”.
